| Primary Outcome | Percentage of Do Not Attempt Resuscitation (DNAR) cases among emergency calls for total cardiac arrest. |

| Secondary Outcome | Detailed Information Regarding DNAR Cases - Percentage of individuals who discussed DNAR (multiple individuals allowed: patient, family, doctor, facility staff, etc.) - Percentage of individuals who expressed their intention to DNAR in writing - Percentage of individuals who had predetermined procedures for responding to cardiac arrest - Details of the procedures for responding to cardiac arrest (e.g., emergency call, contact with attending physician, contact with visiting nurse, contact with care manager, etc.) - Reason for emergency call - Type of current outpatient medical institution - Presence or absence of home medical care intervention - Recognition of cardiac arrest at the time of notification Relationship with the regional medical system - Relationship between the number of medical institutions in the secondary medical area (by type, per capita) and the percentage of DNAR cases |

| Include criteria | All of the following conditions must be met: i) The injured or ill person is in Ibaraki Prefecture and an emergency call has been made. ii) The person is in cardiac arrest upon arrival of the ambulance crew at the scene. iii) The person is 18 years of age or older. |
| Exclude criteria | When there is no one on site who can make decisions regarding how to respond to a patient's sudden change in condition. |
